In a school or college, parents, staff and students are concerned about the occurrence of increasing incidence of violence and misconduct in campuses. There are various types of incidents and the students should learn about the consequences and are accountable for their actions. Incidents of sexual assault, bullying, harassment, fighting, and using firearms to unleash acts of violence are reported.

At best the punishment mechanism is taken through strong disciplinary action in order to discourage misconduct and inappropriate behavior and prevent repeat incidents in the future. Cloud and mobile-based behavior management system simplifies the tracking of student discipline and bullying and helps schools reinforce positive behavior and help students learn in a collaborative environment. So here are seven tips to stop misconduct and violent incidents in the institution:

1. Capture incident data

Capture discipline incident data including incident types, student demographics, behavior, victims, locations, grade level, and incident by day, week, and year. Parents/Guardians should support and encourage their children to report any violence in or off campus to the campus authorities or law enforcement.

2. Record incidents using mobile devices

Document disciplinary incidents on mobile devices easily. Enter disciplinary infractions on the scene of the incident and attach photos using mobile devices such as iPhones or Android.

3. Check the student’s discipline history

Staff and parents can view the complete discipline history of their children including sexual assault, bullying, physical assault (due to race, gender or nationality), vandalism, and harassment when interacting with their parents.

4. Generate discipline forms & letters

Eliminate manual work and automatically generate discipline letters and pre-filled forms to report incidents to parents.

5. Real-time incident tracking

Parents can keep track of their children’s activities in real-time and make note of any changes or drop in grades or attendance.

6. Increase parental involvement

Parents or Guardians should help their children get rid of their problems and work towards maintaining healthy and positive behavior. Educational Institutes should encourage students to seek counseling or help. Many students fail to stop this violence at an early stage and put a stop to the violence. Connect with teachers and staff via the discussion forum and chat to ensure faster problem resolution.

7. Create incident reports

Generate various kinds of incident reports for various periods and analyze the impact of discipline infractions with a comprehensive audit trail to take informed decisions on security and ensure gun-free campus.

8. Email discipline notices

No more typing circulars and displaying incidents in the noticeboard of the institute. Send automatic notifications to parents on their child’s behavior incident through email, SMS alerts and push notifications.

9. Assign penalties

Enter disciplinary infractions from the classroom and automatically assign penalties for incidents. Track penalties fulfilled and outstanding penalty points accumulated by students over the year.

10. Reward positive behavior

Violence in campuses can’t be fully eradicated, but students can be made aware of the consequences and made responsible for the incidents. Configure rules for a point-based reward system and create a scheme to encourage positive discipline and engagement through an accumulation of reward points during the academic year.
